This week the grade 1-3 room learned about the advent season.
We talked about the anticipation of the arrival of San….err I mean the baby Jesus!
The advent season is full of symbols of hope. The kids will be looking closely for the color purple and the signs of our savior’s arrival.
The advent wreath is a traditional way to mark the Sundays of anticipation of the birth of Jesus. Our class had a chance to decorate their very own advent wreath to take home and share with their family.
Sunday Dec. 3rd light a purple candle
Sunday Dec. 10th light a purple candle
Sunday Dec. 17th light a PINK candle
Sunday Dec 24th light a purple candle
Some will light a white candle and place it in the center of the wreath on Christmas morning. Perhaps you may have a tea light candle at home to put in the center!
Take a moment to look up the meaning of each candle and when you light each one say a prayer with your family.
Thank you for sharing your most precious gifts with us on Sunday mornings. We are so blessed! Merry Christmas church family!
