Shrove Sunday Parish Party

What is a “Shrove” party? Typically, it would be called Shrove Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday, and it is the FEAST before the FAST. Though named for its former religious significance, it is chiefly marked by feasting and celebration, which traditionally preceded the observance of the Lenten fast.

That’s right, folks – Wednesday, 2/14 marks the beginning of Lent. This Sunday at 5PM, we will host a fun, Mardi Gras themed party for the whole parish. Children are invited to join me and some young volunteers for a kids’ feast and Mardi Gras mask-making activity, complete with a little parade through the parish hall!

Youth are invited to help out with prepping and serving the meal.

Hope you’ll be there to help us celebrate and feast!
